Obtaining a healthy and well conditioned Chaetodon flavirostris can be a bit challenging at times, but these fish do fare very well when provided with the proper diet of enriched meaty foods and an adequate environment with some open areas and room to roam.
Like Jay and SDguy stated, these fish are not obligate corallivore but rather feed off of plankton and sessile invertebrates.
Unfortunately we listed this species incorrectly, as they are unlike the two other popular Butterflyfish exports from Australia Chaetodon rainfordi and Chaetodon auerofasciatus which feed on corals and algae.
