What is this ?? pics

The past week I have noticed this round yellow thing on my live rock grow in size to about the size of the tip of my thumb, and I have no idea what it is. It doesnt seem harmful in any way and it interesting, but I dont know what it is...if it is a type of coral, sponge, macro-algea or what ?? any info is appreciated

Those are sponges and they will spread in your tank if you have enough nutrient in the water for them to filter thru.

I guess that is one good thing about nutrients then. I seem to be having a bit of a cyano outbreak and I have been trying to eliminate nutrients ( running phosban and added some cheato in corner of tank ). I also increased the water flow the other day to cut down on algea growth. We'll see if it helps.

Not sure where the nutrients are coming from, maybe from the phyto I add ? Oh well, I guess the sponge will have plenty to eat !
