What is this red algae?

Anyone know what this is, and should I take it out? It's a red strand that started growing out of a ball of chaeto in my sump.

It may be grasilaria, another good nutrient sponge like chaeto. I'd keep it for diversity, plus you can feed any herbivorous fish you have with it.
