What is this red stuff growin on my rocks?

I'm curing rock and this red stuff has started growing on my rocks. What is it? It got me a lil excited? Is it harmful?

purple is good- its called coraline algae, means ur tanks going well. if its RED then thats bad algae not good for ur tank- means ur flow may be weak in certain areas.

at second glance, its more purple...woo hoo..i never knew some corraline growth could get me all pumped

i dont believe its cyano...cyano is described as "red slime". What i'm referring to is the red/purplish splotches growing out of the rock..

Sometimes they are plants of some type or maybe coralline algae. It's too hard to tell by the pictures. I wouldn't worry to much at this point. To me it looks pretty benign.

I was initially concerned because I have pieces of LR with marroon red algae. It wasn't slimy and I even tried to brush it. I've come to the conclusion after talking to other aquarists that it is just another color of coraline. This one rock that i have has purple, green, orange and the red. It's really beautiful. There is alo a colony of button polyps that have grown on their own on this rock!
