That's the day time appearance of a dendronephtyid soft coral. At night they inflate by sucking in water and are just spectacular. The down side is that they're non-photosynthetic, sensitive to changes in water chemistry, require strong flow with constant supply of phytoplankton, and frequently die within weeks. Most reefers just can't keep them. Read up on the group. If you can't supply what it needs it's best to pass it on to someone else.

Thats why impulse buys are bad. It will certainly die in most reefs.
