Does anyone have any clue what this might be? I am not sure what this is. I showed it to a co worker of mine and he told me to get rid of it ASAP because this thing is bad.. I tried searching online what it might be but do not know where to start.

It is an Aiptasia anemone... And they spread like wildfire...

Yep that would be an aiptasia. It appears to be on a small rock I would just pull the rock out and let the aiptasia die off. Once they start to spread they can be a PITA to get rid of them.

If you can remove that particular rock with ease just take it out and burn the Aiptasia off with a cigarette lighter. This is a fairly simple task & only takes a few seconds to do. GL.

I like the BBQ grill lighters. I find them easier to angle into some tight spots.
