I got this a few months ago for free and it was bleached out and bright white. It has made a huge comeback..The photo doesn't do any justice as to the actual colors.
It looks like those nefarious mushroom anemone's I've heard about...but can find no documents on at this hour.
But! It might be a majano, I've recently been doing battle with these salty critters, a fine needle syringe with a sodium hydroxide paste is what I used, the only negative affect (That I could find) was an increase water hardness, and you run the risk of hyposalinity.
everything I have seen shows that the majanos are smaller. This thing is big enough that I actually had to un-attach it from the rock in its previous tanks and pick it up. I thought that majanos are like aptaisa....am I wrong?
Leaning toward E. crucifer aka Flower or Rock anenome. Not majano or aiptasia. And I wouldn't label it a nuisance anenome, it has an interesting pattern coming in. I would wait and see what it looks like. But thats just me . . . .
i will try to get a better pic of it...it is pretty sweet looking. I have been doing a little research and it says that they are not suitable clownfish host. I have two clowns in there and was wondering if this thing would eat them.
I have 3 or 4 flower nems in with my clowns and they never bother the clowns. The clown never goes near it really and it is very close to the RBTA the clown is hosting. I wouldnt sweat that, jmo. You can find some cool patterns on these nems. Nice find.
