Not sure what it is you want to ID, if it's the small white star on the Tubastrea the that is an Asterina starfish. Take it out asap... some say they're good others not. My experience is that they do eat a variety of corals and reproduce rapidly. I've been removing them from my 40 gallon tank for over a year now and I still keep finding more.

Looking for the name of the orange hard coral. I received it in an order of frags last week. I didn't order it, or at least didn't mean too. I like to know the requirements of a coral before I take the responsibility of caring for it.

Thats the first I've heard negative about the tiny starfish. They seem to come and go.

The coral is a Tubastrea sp. or sun polyps. They are non photosynthetic and require regular feedings.

The star fish will cause damage sooner or later and they reproduce asexually so before you know it they are everywhere.... I suggest pulling it out. Better safe than sorry later.
