What is this?

Anyone know what this grayish pink/tan stuff is? Its centered around my hammer colony and is spreading over the nearby rocks. There is some on the skeleton of the hammer as well.

Some type of sponge or tunicate.

None at all.

Sponge. I have some like that with no problems. Some worry that some sponge may be toxic but that has not been my experience . They are excellent at taking dissolved organics out of the water and throwing off tgheir own cells c which are more easily exported by gac ,skimming or mechanical filtration thand the dom .They may also m be a food source for certain organisms.
