OK so I have an awesome Purple Tang in my 55 gallon QT right now. He came down with ich, go figure and is currently in Hypo and doing great. Amazing appetite loves to swim all over. Only has one more spot on him on one side and this on the other side. Looks like an ich spot only much larger and seems to be growing so what is it and how do I treat it? Crappy pics I know:facepalm:

Lymphocystis maybe? Kinda looks like it, it's still really small but I see another small one not far from this one on his lateral line. I it is has anyone had any luck treating it. He is still active with a healthy appetite and no labored breathing.

Began treating with Melafix just in case it was lympho I didnt want a secondary bacterial infection. Great news, whatever it is its nearly gone and he is still very happy and active and eating like a pig.

I just wanted to use it to prevent any bacterial infection that might try and pop up. Seems to be doing something.

Update he is not a very happy fish, the lympho has gotten worse but only on his lateral line on the one side. Now he has started to lose his appetite and he is not eating well and spits out almost all foods. He is still fat but he seems sluggish anyone have experience with Dropsy? Might he have come down with that?

He is much better today, his behavior seemed like a kid who lost his puppy. Thats the best I can describe it. He was swimming fine with the occasional bumping into the glass or a rock but not crashing into them because he is swimming so slowly. He just didnt care to do anything really like he was depressed. I added 2 clowns to the QT last night and now he is much more active and swimming all around and interacting with the clowns. I havent fed yet today but I am hoping he has his appetite back although he ate a decent amount of nori yesterday and his stomach is not pinched.

What the pic doesn't show is that it is more of a growth and even moves with the current. He did have an extremely mild case of hlle but it started with the one spot near his tail and begab creeping forward after it initially went away for a day.
