I'm new to the hobby and I've had my 10g nano reef up and running for about 4 months now and this purple stuff has started growing on some of my rock. It's seems to have bubbles trapped underneath it. Does anybody know what this is? Thanks

It looks like we all concur. This is caused by phosphate levels that are to high.Syphon it out and do a water change.Reduce feeding to every other day.Run only blue light for a few days.

Pluck it out as much as you can. I've been battling it for a while now and it's just now slowly disappearing. It'll take over your rocks, sand bed and corals if you don't tame it down

Nitrates also. I've had 0 phosphates yet my nitrates were sky high and cyano exploded in my tank
