Ok saw your latest post..
That is 100% normal part of a new tank..
We call it the "ugly stages"..
Its typically brown diatoms then green algae and sometimes you even get some cyano..
It will all pass and is just a normal part of a new tank..
Unless you have a phosphate problem (and you don't) I would NOT suggest running GFO..
Its very strong stuff and too little phosphate is just as bad if not worse than too much..
And with your current livestock list there is NO reason to run GFO..
You can send me a check for 50% of the money I just saved you if you want.
Because they think its "what the cool kids do" I guess.. And they are wrong..
The "cool kids" don't need GFO as we don't overfeed and don't have phosphate issues..
Its totally fine to "plan" for potentially needing GFO in the future so you plan your plumbing to accommodate it.. But do not run it unless you need it.. And you don't..
Like you all the "newbies" see talk of it, don't understand it fully and think they must have it to have a successful tank.. You absolutely do not.. I've run tanks for oh... 15 years now and NEVER needed GFO.. Not even close..
I'm fine with 1/4" of the money then
What I see in your picture is a totally happy/new tank with nothing out of the ordinary.. You are doing just fine..
Keep up with sufficient water changes to keep nitrates and phosphates low and to replenish (keep stable really) cal/alk/mag levels for your coral(s).. Thats all you need to concern yourself with now..
