What is this?

This came with a coral I bought in a LFS. I didn't notice it until a few days later and I "cut" it out to mount it.

That picture is as clear as mud, Kewl. Are they individual polyps? Do they retract? Maybe some type of daisy polyp, clavularia sp. OR could be hydroids? Hope not.

First thought here was hydroids... I've had them a few times, but pretty easy to get rid of.

Looks like our local branching porites to me. But hard to tell with that pic.

I thought it was some kind of coral because it has polyps on it and they retract into a skeleton when bothered. It's like 1/2" and I will try to take a better pic of it.
