This is in Dans tank, and he is not curious to find out what it is, but i am. He found it underneat a chunk of live-rock, and it was only about 1cm all around, now it is huge.......does anyone have any idea what this is?
Hard to tell from the pic, but like Craig said, if it was under a rock probably sponge or it almost looks like a type of macro? How long was it under the rock?
Originally posted by chrisstie That looks like the thing on the back side of sitcs LPS tank that is being held for someone to me. I forget what its called
If I'm looking at the right object. I would say from the blue/cream color it is close to a Dictyota(a brown type of algae). The blade shape makes me want to say more of a Halymenia( sp. duchassaignii) A discription would be: Fleshy and wide ,with irregular lobes. With upward teeth and a rubbery texture.
Still hard to say from the pic.
It is not fleshy at all, it feel slike a dried leaf... it has any layers, and is BARELY connected to the rock, we never moved it from its original place, but it still looks about to like ...fall off. It has a blueish color, but is also black, red, and green in some areas. here is another pic:
well, the leaves or whatever are pliable, but not not like ones of a frogspawn or something, i dont know how to explain it..... DAN, I KNOW YOU ARE SECRETLY READING THIS POST, "YOU" SAY WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT, I AM TRYING TO DESCRIBE "YOUR" CORAL....LOL
To translate from my late night attempt at communication..
The thing in the picture - it looks like something in the LPS tank at sea in the city. It is flat and wavy like the pic and there is a circle on the glass that says "being held for soandso"
