What is this

pmolan,

There's a reason we have those letters in our profanity filters...So using creative spelling to get around that is not a good long term strategy for the viability of your membership here. Neither are the sexual comments in your post.

Inappropriate...period.

While the content's great, I'm still trying to get over the title of this thread.

In retrospect I understand and thank you for making the changes. Sorry if I offended any with the prior subject title, but I am glad the post remains for people to enjoy.

It's called pseudocopulation. They're broadcast spawners, but they get together like this to improve their chances of their gametes coming together.

I think he gave you a great answer....

Thank you greenbean, do you happen to know how these eggs will be distributed? Will they remain in the sand until hatched? Finally am I able to harvest them in a 10 gallon tank for breeding. I was so entertained by all of the comments that I forgot I was looking for a real answer :) The disco ball comment still cracks me up!!!

The eggs will be released into the water, but you won't be able to raise them. Even if you collected some and got them to hatch, the larvae are planktonic for a long time and very fragile. Then when they're ready to settle you have to give them the right cue, which I don't think has ever been studied for these stars.
