What is this?

I found this in my tank. It came in on my second shipment. I thought it was cool but then I noticed it on one of my clams. It bored a hole through the shell and consumed the clam within a few hours. I doesn't look like the Whelk pics on the TBS site. I looks more like a Conch. Any ideas as to what it is and if it need to move to my older tank.

Best guess is a Murrex (Sp?). A carnivorous snail.

I believe this is correct.

I have one of this snail in my tank. Is it bad? It has been in my tank for a long while and I don't evenknow where it came from. What should I do? thanks

If you have any clams or snails, or crabs it will kill and eat them. They really cool until they kill your favorite invert.
