what is too much light?

i currently run 2- 48" 108watts t-5 ho units(108 watts each) and 1 48" 130 watt pc on a 55 gallon--which comes to 6 watts per gallon--is that overkill

I'm probably the only person here that has a lot of experience with T-5s.

1) What size tank do you have?
2) Why are you asking the question? Are your inhabitants not looking very good?

a 55 gallon and no everything looks and acts fine--i was just curious as to whether i was overkilling the light spectrum

If everything is doing fine and you are happy with it, then all is good. If softies were detaching and hiding, then you might have problems.
