What is up with my hairy mushroom?!

Two days ago it had shriveled up! Idkk what's wrong! I moved my gonipora up near it so I thought that may have been stinging it... It want touching it but i don't know! So I moved it away from it. What is going on with it? Is it something these go through?

I don't believe so cause it has never had a problem ever with those zoos... And right when I moved my goniopora it got bigger... So I don't know.

And this picture was taken right after I had my hands in there... That's why the zoos are closed... All of them are open all the time

Also found this on a rock, a white spongy type thing... And it kind of smelled funky when I pulled it out... Think I have a pest or something in my tank?

Talked to my LFS... Said I was fine.... And the sponge is a sponge... Just a little harmless filter feeder!
