What is wrong with my new Wrasse?? Please help.

I saw 1/4" long white flat worm like on my new Wrasse's a$$. Please help me identify the syndrome and what kind of treatment for him. TIA

lots of de-wormer meds on the market. There's some good resources in the fish disease forum which talks about different meds that can be administered to help get rid of them. That's the best I can do for you at this point. I hope you have an established quarantine system.

You can treat your reef tank with prazipro if you don't have any feather dusters or other worms you care about. Otherwise you should remove him to a QT and treat him there. It should clear up after two treatments.

He has internal parasites, run two rounds of prazi and you'll be good to go. In the future, since prazi is so easy for fish to take, I recommend adding it as part of your QT process.

You can get fishfood with praziquantel or levamazole in it as well. Theres an angelfish place in NY that sells it online. http://www.angelsplus.com/FlakeMedicated.htm

I've never gotten a wrasse to eat flake food, could be worth a try though.
