What is your oldest fish?

I was looking at some pictures and started to think about how old my royal gramma is now. This is Trooper and I've had him for right around 7-8 years now! I call him tropper because I actually had to suck all of the water out of my tank when I was moving and pick him up with my hands to get him out. Tough little SOB!

So who is your oldest fish?

My oldest would be my 5 year old scopas. unfortunately he just passed away. I hadn't transferred him to the dorm tank yet and while he was still at home the circuit for my tank tripped and my parents had forgotten to do his feedings so no one noticed.

I'm sorry to hear that! He was great looking fish!

I've had a percula got just over 9 years. He's been a tough fish and has survived a 2 month period of absolutely no maintenance (no feeding, no water changes, not even any top off water. I was a passenger in a fatal car accident, due to a drunk driver, which left me in a coma for 7 weeks and with an paralyzed arm) and somehow he survived. He's also survived a couple multiple week power outages due to hurricanes. I plan on having him for another 9 years. I have a feeling he might outlive myself, lol.

i had a Minatus Grouper that was going on 10 years when he died (heat wave and power outage when i was out of town).
after that is the domino damsel, royal gramma, yellow & hippo tangs, and a sebae clown, 4 years on those.

Wow- sounds like you're both a couple of survivors! Thanks for sharing.

I have an oscellaris clown I bought on Oct 11, 2001. I bought a pair but the female died long ago. I just moved him from the 7.5gal nano he's lived in his whole life to my new BC 14 just last week. I hope he makes it at least another 10!

My Female Rod's Onyx perc just had its 6th birthday. I have a wild caught Pair of Maroon Clowns that I've had for 8 years but I suspect they were over a year old when collected.

I've had my same Ocellaris "Clowny" since the summer of 99 when I started reefing. She was wild caught because there was no such thing as tank bred at the time ;). I've had her for over 12 years now, but I have no idea how old she really is. Here she is back in 2002 in my 12g nano at the time:

She still looks and acts the same. She just recently started hosting in my BTA. Wonder if she still remembers nems from the wild?

I have had my Purple Tang for just over 9 years now. I like to tell my 8 year old daughter that she is my 3rd child  (I only really have two kids)

I dont have any over 2 1/2 do to a ich outbreak a couple years ago. But my dad the viking of saltwater who never even had a protein skimmer until last year has a snowflake eel thats about 16 years old and a couple tangs that are 10+. Amazing how that works is'nt it!

Its not a fish but iv had this snail from my fisrt tank which was 5.5 years ago. Its been through 5 tank swaps and has lived through many wrases which were not snail friendly.

I have a Purple tang that I have had for 12 years. The previous owner had it for at least 3. Guessing the fish is at least 17 years old.
