what kelvin 14k or 20k on 120rr sps

I can't decide which bulb to go with, not using actinic..14k hamilton or xm 20k ..I like the look of 20k but, I need more par for sps..going all sps..help tank size is 72x18x22 . light will be 4" to 5" above water level
 
What wattage ? If 250's I would go with the phoenix 14 K. Great color and PAR. If 400 watt I would go with XM 20 K. I am not a fan of the Hamilton 14 Ks in general. That is JMO
 
I don't have experience with them but there is a thread where others have reported that the phoenix 14 K does not look or perform that well on an HQi ballast but does very well on an electronic ballast.

If you are using an electronic ballast I would go with the phoenix bulb. I assume when you said 250 watt HQi that you meant double ended bulbs correct ? Here is a comparison chart to compare bulbs and ballasts. Just fill in the blanks

i run 400 w hamilton 14 k greatt color so-so growth on acro's my monti's have really taken off in size, and the color's are really nice my tank is 24 inch deep, i run standard ballast
