What killed my cleaner shrimp?

The other day I noticed what looked to be the skin of one of my cleaner shrimp in my tank...I ignored this because I'm used to it and have seen it before from when they shed. Well, its been a couple days now and one of my two cleaner shrimp is gone.

All of my fish are in a QT tank at the moment getting treated with hyposalinity and the only things that were in the tank were:

2 Cleaner shrimp
2 Peppermint shrimp
3 Mexican turbo snails
~10 Nassarius snails
~10 Scarlet Hermits
~10 other hermits, cant remember the name although they are black and around the same size as the scarlets

I have had both since I started my tank around 6 months ago and all the inverts have been in there the same amount of time too. Also, I have been feeding them every three days or so as well.

Anyone got any idea on what could have happened?

Any input is appreciated!

Could have died of natural causes, something coud have eatin him( hitchhiker) could have been sucked into the sump area. There are so many variables. He could also still be in hiding from shedding, they usually hide for a few days to up to a week unti there new shell hardens.

My have to agree w/ Blown, It was probaly a hitchhiker that lives in your live rock that you haven't seen before. I've lost several shrimp, gobies and blennies to these mysterious deaths only to find out weeks or months later that I have some carnivourus crab that has been in my tank for years!

I found mine by looking at the tank late at night with a flashlight, You'll be surprised at what you find moving around!
