what kind of algae?

I have a new tank set up for about a week and today I noticed alot of my roack is turning orange, Im assuming it is algae...is this diatom algae? Its not on my sand though. Should I be worried about this or is a part of the process of a new tank? Thanks for the help.

its either diatoms or cyano, i have never found a clear explanation, only vague descriptions which could fit either, but yes, i would say normal, next will be covering the sandbed, again, normal

how long to get it gone? I have 6 atrea(sp?) snails and 3 large scarlet hermits in a twenty for cleanup, think it will be sufficient?

i have always just left it alone, its part of the natural process of the cycle, after a few weeks or so if it is still bothering you you may suck out what you can with a length of tubing during a water change, sometimes it will come back, sometimes it wont
