The first pic looks like a pagoda cup coral, and the second pic doesn't look dead. Does it get any polyp extension? Since when do you have this coral, did you buy it like that or was it open?

I just purchased the goniopora yesterday and the polyps were very small and not extended at all. I think from transferring it into the tank it's polyps arent out, ill see how it looks in a few days.

For the goni....I would try to spot feed it and keep it in moderate/low flow. Baby it and it may come back.
