What Kind of Tool to Drill Hole on Glass Tank?

I need to drill a new hole to fit my 1-1/2" bulkhead on my sump which is a 180G glass tank.

What kind of tool do I need? I hate to buy expensive tool and only use them once, any cheap workable tool available?

How easy to drill a larger new hole (for 1-1/2" bulkhead) on the same spot of a smaller old hole (for 1" bulkhead)?

I don't know if you want, but you could stop by my office and borrow my dremmel. I think that if you buy a diamond bit it will do the trick, but ask around. I have never done it before, and don't want to be responsible if anything breaks.

Why don't you just let him use your dentist drill? Or is it the Dremmel that you use to drill holes in kid's teeth? :eek2:

If your going to do it yourself get a diamond hole saw on ebay. there only about 10 bucks and work well. Use a drill press if you have one, and use a lot of water. go slow. If you are only doing one hole and can find someone to do it for 35 bucks i would just let them do it.

Aquahut does them for 15 for the first and 7 or 8 for additional.

The hole saw bit really does work just fine--go slow and wet the glass. If I can do it and not break a tank, and if my brother can do it, than anyone can

Somebody told me a gentleman named "J.J" has been doing the tank installations for a long time, and he has the tool and experience to drill the holes. Does anybody know him and have his telephone number?

I might need some experienced person to help me setup the tanks, not only just drill the holes.
