What kind of worm?

I was doing some maintenance this morning and spotted this. Any ideas?

Looks like a peanut worm to me. Was it moving on the sandbed or just dead there? My understanding is that they burrow into sand and live exclusively in the sand but I could be wrong.

It seems to move slow but hasn't left that spot. Just extends then curls back up
