this is my first purchase of zoo's and would like to purchase more. it is being kept under 260w pc's. is this enough lighting?
sorry pictures are not so great...STILL trying to learn how to work my camera. :D

try adjusting the white balance settings so the pictures arent so blue (i'm guessing thats what you are referring to). you can do this either by preset settings, or manually by holding up a white piece of paper to the tank lighting to set it manually (most cameras have this option now a days i think).

they look like just regular zoas to me. try www.zoaid.com if you need a name. its kinda objective.

55g are kinda deep, but i think they will do ok under that light. they just may not have the same amazing coloration as you see some pictures of here on the forum with people running 14k-20k metal halides. so dont be too discourage that your morph doesnt look exactly like everyone elses

if you start to see the stalks getting longer after a couple of weeks, it means the zoa polyps are trying to reach for the light. you should either raise them up higher in the tank, or get some stronger lights.

HTH :)

thanks surfnvb7,

i have the colony sitting in the bottom of the tank, i will keep an eye on the stalks to see if they start to stretch, if so i will move it higher up the tank closer to the light. light upgrade is outtta the question at the moment........till i upgrade to a bigger tank! thanks again.

look like fire and ice but so blue.

I was thinking fire and ice also, but not quite sure with the extremely actinic lighting.
