What laguna motor block for BK red dragon 2000

I need to replace the motor block on one of the skimmer pumps for my bk 500 ext.

Royal Exclusiv doesn't know? I sent an email to find out and this is what they said:
Hello David,

we don´t know the laguna part n°.
Laguna pumps are not saltwater resistant.

Best Regards

I don't see a pump number. Where should I look?

I was wondering if you could tell me the Laguna part number. It is only about $100 US and looks the same except it doesn't have the calcium bypass.

I have a bubble king 500 ext and I need to replace one of the skimmer pump's motor block. I was wondering if you could tell me what model number laguna pump you use on this skimmer.

Thanks

To say they use Laguna pumps is inaccurate. I'm not surprised they don't know.

Hagen (Laguna) and Royal Exclusiv (Red Dragon) use motors made by Askoll which is an Italian company. I don't think they work together to produce these.

Hagen owns Askoll, they are the parent company for both Laguna and Askoll.

From a much earlier thread...

.... but good enough for all the copies from China ...

@USC-Fan......

you see the new Red Dragon 3 Speedy Pumps ? ... has nothing to do with a *Pond-Pump* It´s a Royal-Exclusiv Development...

The Red Dragon1 Pumps are never was Pond Pumps.. The Motorblock was specialmade by Hagen/Askoll for Saltwateraplications inside/housing and not for Ponds. They have CE and a Certificate for Tanks, so inside-Applications, not for Ponds. The Plug and Electronic and Start-Torque is different.....

FWIW many people have replaced the BK pump body with a Laguna/Askoll and had no issues with it. The trick of course will be to match up the specs from the BK pump to the Laguna/Askoll, which is what you are trying to do. It is certainly feasible that BK worked with Askoll to modify the electronics that control the pump, I have no reason to doubt that because partnerships like that happen daily. I wish I could tell you which pump to get but I cannot. I can tell you that what you want to do has been done before.
