what level is ur salt at?

ok so ill try to get it at aroudn 1.024 or 5 then. ok so i have a 65g tank wit a 20 gallon sump/fuge and i dont know how much salt to add to it. as u see my salt is low and i im to scared to put to much salt so huow much do u think i should add at a time.

I wouldn't add any salt to your tank.....I would slowly increase it in your next water change....:)

Currently:

55g QT (fish): 23.1 mS => 1.0097 (hypo)
10g QT (coral): 50.5 mS => 1.0245
5.5g QT (fish): 51.3 mS => 1.0249
250g: 50.5mS => 1.0245

I gave up on refractometers a few months ago, now I use a pinpoint salinity meter.

I usually target 53mS (35ppt, 1.0259) in my display , so I'm a tad low right now. To raise it, I add extra saltwater to the sump, and let it evaporated back down slowly.

I just added a couple gallons of topoff (RO/DI) to the hypo tank, gotta keep it below 1.010 to be effective. Thanks for the reminder!

Like they said above. No need to add salt to the tank.
Just do your topoff with saltwater instead of RO until it gets to the level you want.

Why have your salt at anything but ocean levels?
I also agree..., but you'd still have to make a decision as to which ocean you'd like to duplicate. lol

Depending on the location, the average ocean salinity can range between 1.022 and 1.035.
The tropical Indo-Pacific has an average specific gravity of 1.022 - 1.025.
The Caribbean has an average specific gravity of 1.023 - 1.026, and the Red Sea has an average specific gravity of 1.028 - 1.035 just to name a few.

Here is a map of salinity at the surface. Average salinity in the ocean is 35ppt. It's safe to say that our corals come from many places. In my opinion keeping your tank at average salinity would be your best bet for a coral tank.
