What light do i need to grow Cheato?

I will be setting up my refugium soon and would like to know what is the best light to grow cheato.

My fuge is small so i need a small light. I was told a warm light maybe 7000k? I dunno
Coralife sells i think 18w 7000k light for fresh water plants. comes in green package. LFS use that to grow cheato
A lot of people say to buy light from home depo but woun't that give off too much heat? :S i dunno

If your looking for something cheap, and the tank is small you can use one the spiral compact found commonly at many stores. Pick out the 6500k ones. They just screw into an ordinary light socket so you use one of the inexpensive clamp on reflectors with a screw socket. Total cost about 6 bucks.

I have used alot of different kinds of lights on my fuge and got a little growth but nothing compared to the 60w household bulb in a clamp on fixture running 24 hours. Grows like crazy!!

My refugium is inside my stand so wouldn't using household bulb generate too much heat inside the stand?

The PC ones tend to run a bit cooler. Adding a small fan to area under the stand would help to cool the tank as well as combat any heat generated by the bulb.

I use the same thing, but with a 100W bulb.

I know some people get all fancy with the different bulbs, but I don't see any reason to bother.

The obvious downside is that an incandescent bulb is not very energy efficient, but a 60W is a good reduction and you'll still get great growth.
