i personaly have the 70 w sunpod on my 24 gal AP and it is killer and i dont think it would be too much for what you described

thanks i think im gonna go with the sunpod MH HQI 150w unless someone else says its tomuch light. i might be upgrading my tank to a 30g oceanic cube (not biocube) in a few months so i was thinking of getting the 150w then move it to the new tank.

d1hotblaze, is your tank set up yet? is the 70w fixture bright?

i had the fiture over my old nano cube 24dx it was very bright and i really like the color of the 14k bulb it comes with

Yes I keep Ricordeas. But IME Ricordea yumas hate strong light and Ricordea Floridas love strong light. I keep my floridas about 3 inches from the surface and they open up so big. However, I had to tuck my yuma under a shaded area and he's in the bottom of the tank. I'll try to get a full tank shot.

I use to have the ESU Coralife Dual Aqualear on a 55 gal and it was ok. Now I have the Current USA Outer Orbit and although its not fair to compare capability (OO has mh, cf and led whereas ESU was cf only), I do think the build quality of the Current is far superior. Customer support at Current USA is aloso outstanding - they helpwed me so much with all the questions i had.

cool cant wait to see a pic of your tank. im going for the floridas more than the yumas.

It depends on what you want to keep. If you plan on leeping birght colored acropora go big. 250 watts. sometimes its hard to keep colors bright with only 150. I recently put a 250watt on mine from a 150, and its not too hot plus my corals much better.

I got the 150 sunpod on my nano 24 also & I love the lights. I have alot of zoas & flordia rics & have had no problems at all. The 14k bulb that comes with it is beautiful.
