If you're talking about the palys (not the eagle eyes) they're just another different kind of polyp. You got two types from the lfs in the frag, not that you're doing something wrong. Hope this helps.

From the growth rate I have observed the Paly is growing alot quicker will it over take the Eagle Eye I bought it for the eagle eye and no disrespect to fellow reefers but IMO this strand of Paly is ugly. So maybe I can frag it any thoughts.

Those protopalys are one of the fastest growers out there and can grow over the zoanthids. I have personal experience in the mint blue or blue hue type protopalys over taking and literally growing mats over zoanthids and other palys. I never let those things grow on my main rock as withl invasive growth will out complete most for space.

I had the same experience as Charles with them overgrowing other types of polyps. I lost a ton of radio active dragon eyes and lunar eclipse because they grow so fast. When I moved tanks I also ended up fragging lots of sps because they had started overtaking them too. If you like the look put them on their own island and keep them away from any base rock as they will take over.
