I am currently using amino acids. I don't have any ill effects due to the use. I am trying to dose amino acid, VC to my tank weekly. I am in the process of starting a thread about the setup of a zoa/paly tank. From start to finish. It will be an ongoing thread with a different view. More to come.
Dustin,
Ammino Acids sound like a positive idea, but there is no real scientific proof that they make a major positive impact on our corals. Maybe you can be the first to prove or disprove their usage?
Ray,
I am barebottom.
Yet, I know it's only a matter of time before I add sand.
I see it like this...
My tank is 8 years old now. It's approaching the 10 year mark which I don't want to go past. A sand bed will last 5 to 7 years and be productive. So, by the time the sand bed is ready to be taken out, I'll have changed the tank a long time ago. But will I put one in the new reef?
I truely believe that sand beds (while functioning and deep) have a super positive effect on our reefs. Unless you lose power, then they're the worst thing in the world to have in your tank.(period!)
Well, I am wrapped up in a wedding on Saturday and working on my roof on Sunday with a hangover. Maybe I should up my life insurance policy before this weekend?
Lonnie's fragging his reef? Save some for me! I'll talk to you tomorrow.
