well im getting a clown fish that is WC and i want to be ready with any desises that they have. the last clown died from popeye and internail paristies too. i also do have a 10gallon QT. and i would rather not use copper cause i would like my clowns to breed if ever possible. so what meds so i get before i get the clown. thanks for anyhelp puffer21

Always treat anemonefish for Brooklynella, whether you see it or not.

Then hold it in QT for 4 weeks after that treatment for observation.

If you don't want to use copper meds, then you should be prepared to perform a hyposalinity treatment. For that you need equipment. You want to have on hand a refractometer and an accurate means of determining the pH of the hypo water. :)

is this good for internail paristites

No it isn't. Maracyn-II is an antibiotic, which is not effective against internal parasites. Do note that there are many different internal parasites which require different approaches. You should really try to get idea of what is causing an ailment before you administer medicines. How do you know the fish noted in your original post died from internal parasites? And, which ones?

Treating for Brook as suggested by Lee is probably a good idea. However, after that I would just observe the fish in Q for a few weeks before making any further treatment decisions.

i know it deid from popeye and internail paristes cause both eyes were swallon and he had white poop.

How do you define "internal parasites"? Popeye is highly indicative of an internal bacterial infection. White poop, however, tells you nothing, really. Your fish could have been starved, the bacterial infection may have altered the function of the gut, could have been virus - or, as you suspect, it may have been an internal parasite. All kinds of things can cause white poop - you shouldn't assume it's a parasite without further information. By parasite I'm referring to a worm, protozoan or other "large" pathogen which is neither a bacteria or virus. You have to be careful with your terminology as this will affect how people assess and help with particular problems. This is turn will have a big impact on choice of treatment and make the difference between saving a fish or watching it perish. For example, Maracyn-II could be used to treat a bacterial infection, but would not be effective against an internal parasite. Similarly, many medications that are effective against internal parasites (which can be very difficult to select since you need to know what type of parasite you are dealing with) would not be effective against a bacterial infection.

Better luck with your next set of clowns.

well i had post a thread here and people said that it was internail paristise cause of the white stringe poop
