what modules to add

So with winning the apex Jr at the bar swap I have been looking at expanding it. But it will only expand to 5 modules so I want some opinions of what would be the best ones to add. I will also be getting the 8 plug box. Thanks for the input Robert.

Ah, the gateway drug for controllers!

The Jr. just has temp port. If you want pH, you need a PM1. This will give you another temp port and I/O that can, with the break out box, get you six switch (like float switch) ports.

What else do you want to measure/control?

Vortechs need a WXM
AI Sols need a VDM
controlable Tunze pumps can use the VDM
Some DIY LEDs can use the VDM
and the list continues.

The four AC ports are RELAY outlets. These can handle small loads like powerheads and loads up to 8 amps. They make a click when they turn on/off.
The EB8 has 6 TRIAC outlets and two RELAY. TRIAC do not work for very small loads like powerheads and dosing pumps.

Depending on what you want to do you might find it cheaper to sell the Jr. and buy the full Apex.
