I have a 90 reef and i am planning to add more fish. I currently have: mystery wrasse and christmas wrasse. Im planning to add a purple tang or a rainford's goby to eat algae. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't count on a Rainsford for putting much of a dent in algae. Mine, tends to pick at the rocks and sand, and never eats much. The Purple Tang or a Lawnmower Blenny might be a better choice for dealing with algae.

You might also consider a Coral Beauty or Flame Angel.

im scared or angels because it is either a hit or miss with corals. I've had a flame before and it was "reef safe" when i got it from my friends reef. When i put it into my reef, it tore up all of my lps. Lawnmowers tend to be too agressive in the future. i want to have a center show fish for the tank and i dont know what should it be. I had 2 purple tangs in there before but when my tank over heated, it killed all of my fish. Now im thinking of adding one yellow and one purple then some other wrasse in there. I dont think my christmas wrasse is going to make it because it is sick for some reason.

I have a purple tang in my 90 gallon and he does a great job of keeping my tank clean. I had him in quarentine once for an internal parasite and one he came out he ate most of the algae on the rocks and even ate some of the cyno.
