What other livestock could I add?

I have a 14g biocube with a 2 1/2 inch chromis and six hermit crabs. What else. Could I fit in it? I've heard various opinions on this, and I was hoping you guys could could help me out a bit (I would especially like it if someone with actual nano tank experience commented)

My family is trying to force me to get an anemone and two clowns (though I'm against the idea since I dont think it'll work very well with the current tank and I think it's too generic) but would this even work with the current livestock? What could I add instead.

Also, what kind of gobies could fit in this tank (Clowns and anemone not withstanding)

Clowns could fit fine, just probably not with a chromis

I disagree and so do the suppliers of such animals..

On average the minimum recommended tank size for clownfish is 30 gallons..

Now those numbers may not be backed by 100% proven facts as fish cannot tell us when they are in too small of a tank.. But I personally follow the recommendations and suggest everyone else does too...

No offense, but I have seen healthy 14 gallon systems with clownfish that have lasted many years, even some with one or two fish in addition to them. If you personally dont recommend it fine, but it's not a question of agreeing or not since its been proven they can with great success repeatedly.

I was just more curious if clowns could fit in with a chromis which I was already sure they likely couldn't, so now I'll have to get my family set on some thing else.

If anyone with experience keeping a clown or two in a 14 tank with a chromis please comment, though I doubt it would be enough room for two or maybe even one

I currently have a pair of baby clowns in a 14 gallon biocube. We do not have a nem for them in there and I don't have any plans on adding one. We are working on a 75 gallon build and will likely move them to that system when they are bigger. Currently they are each maybe 1/2 an inch long. Attached is a photo of them from yesterday morning.

No nem in 14g....to small....
Clowns on own might work, but not far to the clown....30g min......50 for nem....
 
Thanks guys, might add some frogspawn and a clown but still neck deep in research

In reference to the clown there appears to be no right or wrong answer considering people have done both 30g and even 10g for a pair or single specimen. And a healthy system and a healthy fish are all that matter

Shoot heroine into your eyeballs for 5+ years and see what happens. This is hardly a comparison to a healthy tank with happy healthy fish.

Yeah I'm looking into gobies and talking about it with my family. They re pretty set on clown fish, but fortunately I was able to get them off an anemone for frogspawn or just a maxi mini carpet anemone. I might be able to get them to do only one clown and a goby instead but I'm still researching. Once the tank is finished I'll be sure to post pics

It's looking pretty good for a two month old tank. Its got sea sponges, two bristle worms (which used to be one that somehow split in half, at least they're smaller) purple algae growing, happy hermits, a dozen or so stomatellas, and a ravenous blue green chromis.

I'm not gonna let anything mess thing tank up so I gotta be sure before I put anything else in side.

I've seen people do intraorbital injecting for decades with no problems.

Tell your family if they want the clowns and the nem they are more than welcome to pay for the cost of the upgrade. :D Furthermore nems IMHO are more of a pain then they are worth since they require well established tanks and lots of light. Personally I would not keep a chromis in that tank either as they are a schooling fish and need more space. You are correct that clowns are generally too small for that tank (and they will rule it with an iron fist if you did attempt it). If you are going to attempt clowns I might suggest the teardrop crowns as they are the smallest of the bunch:

Fish that are better suited to your tank are small gobies, small blennies, firefish and the Possum/Pygmy Wrasse.
