Hello,I am going to test for and maintain K levels at normal sea water, but there seems to be a few types of potassium available, like potassium iodide or potassium chloride. So which one is best?

Plus 1 on brightwell. IME you should not need to dose K. I did thought it would help with purples and blues. It did nothing but increase my K to 2X NSW levels.

Invest in a good Test Kit Before you dose it, things can get Hairy when Potassium is overdosed.

I use the zeovit potassium and that works great as well just a little pricier. But like noted before make sure you test it before adding.

pottasium iodine, can not be used to increase K+ concentration, your tank will crash due to iodine poisoning if you tried it.

so only option is pottasium chloride as you mentioned. [to increase K+]

HTH,

more importantly though, is what test kit you will use ? they are all hard to read :S so I just go by color of my orange caps now.
