I use a maxi jet Mini on one phosban reactor and a maxijet 600 on the other.. Your reactor should have a ball valve that lets you adjust the flow. You only want a Trickle so almost any small pump will work. Good thing about a Maxi jet is they are cheap and take the same size hose as the store bought phosban reactors.
For top off Aqualifters are nice. When I used a storage tank I just used a maxi jet for that too.. Either will do the job.
I use Micro Jet pumps for both auto top-off and phosban reactor. I also use a Mini Jet pump for sending water up to my overhead refugium for my 15G tank. The flow rates of both Micro Jet and Mini Jet pumps are adjustable. I find them very reliable and long lasting, too. My 4 years old Mini Jet for my overhead refugium is still going strong (I hate to admit, but I have not done any maintenance on it since it's in a hard to reach place)
