what pump to buy

I have a 240G tank, 8x2x2. Should I get 4 6105 or 3 6155? Or any other combo you would recommend. Please explain to me why so im more of a knowledgeable consumer :>.

How thick is the glass the pumps will mount on?

In terms of flow, I would start with 2 6105, this is likely enough unless it is a very heavily stocked SPS only tank. The 6105 though includes a magnet suitable for up to .59" glass so you may need a booster magnet or depending on glass thickness the 6155's my even be a better value.

it is .75 inch thick. Should I place it on the long opposite side of the tank to get the best performance?

Yes, I would place them one in each back corner aimed to hit the front 6ft away. You would need the booster magnet 6205.501 to get hold on 3/4" glass.
