What safe pen markers can I use for my rocks cape?

I just bought 80lbs of Caribsea SouthSea Rock and I am doing a mock up of my aquascape before my tank arrives. I want to number the rock so I will know how to replicate the aquascape in the tank. What safe pen markers can I use to label the rock?

No idea honestly. But my wife and I just took pictures with our phones. Heck. We're on our third tank and I still have pictures of all of our precious scapes!

Just write numbers on paper and use elastics to keep them in place until the rock is in the tank

I used colored zip ties to line everything back up.
