I like Red Sea. I've used it as my preferred salt for 3 years now with no problems. It's neat to see the Red Sea plant down in Eilat where it comes from.
Has anyone tried ProLine Super Salt Concentrate . I am thinking about this stuff as it is a bit cheaper since the NaCl is not in it, and shipping should be better as well.
jbittner--not to worry, you're not alone--I've been an Oceanic user as well or the past 2 years and I've never had an issue either. I started out using IO, but switched to Oceanic because it mixes so much better and faster. Anyway, JMO.
I switched form IO to Kent for increased calcium levels. No more see-saw in the cal/alk levels anymore. Its pretty bad that you have to ADD calcium to IO for water changes. I was a IO user for 1 1/2 years till I found the joy of Kent salt. I have a HEAVILY stocked 120 with LPS and for 6 weeks now haven't had to add a drop of calcium yet! Cal has not dropped below the 400 mark with 10 gal water changes weekly. I'm impressed so far.
I just ordered my first Box of Tropic Marin ProReef Salt. Looks like i'm going to like it. Now I currently use locally collected NSW, this is just a test to see if mixed salts are better for me. All my LFS sell natural sea water, and I want to make sure isn't hampering any growth, not that I'm unhappy with my growth.
