what settings to use

I just installed two 6000s with the multicontroller for my 120. I have them mounted in the top two corners. I was wondering what's the optimal setting for sps and a few fish.

There really is no optimal, it depends on tank layout and a lot of factors. Try a few set ups and see what works for you. For pump life and reduced maintanence Interval 2 is the ideal. In terms of natural flow a 6 hr interval most closely replicates a natural tide interval.

sounds good, i switched it to interval 2 that changes every 6 hours. Another question I have is how can i prevent it from moving the sand in the front? I have it pointing to opposite corners but no matter what i do, it keeps moving the sand.

I just got my Tunze in, and I am experiecing the same problem with moving sand. It's really annoying, but not a surprise. I am debating on mounting it on the two side pane instead of the back. It won't look as nice, but it's better than all the sand being pushed to the back.

You might try turning down the top flow speed on the controller so it only goes to say 60 or 80%. What size sand and how old is it?

haha, even at 60-80 it still kicks up sand... its the fine grain sand... I had to turn it down to 40 %

Having same problem.

Having same problem.

3 year old bed. Sand that is sold as live sand from Carib Sea. Fine grainules I guess

You will just have to turn down the flow to suit, generally an older sand bed aggregates to some extent and doesn't move so easily.
