I've had the best results with medium flow and mid to low level placement. I feel that LPS don't like high flow.

Flow with about 20-25 turnover rate. So if you have a 40 gallon, then 800-1000 gallons per hour. Low to medium level as posted above work best.

When it comes to lps flow it's hard to gauge simply by turnover rate. You could have a high flow power head that is indirectly pointed and be ideal or a low turnover with direct flow and be to much. I keep my tank which is lps heavy with indirect flow that gently pushes polyps around. You'll have to play around with angles to get it dialed in.
Here's some lps shots with the flow I have, hard to see but Polyps really only move back and forth and are not blasted.

Yeah basing off turnover rate isn't a good way to base flow, as the return can be various pressures depending on how it's set up.
Lets learn a little about this tank first... What are the dimmensions of the tank and how are the rocks aquascaped? Lighting? How many and what size power heads? What's your filtration? We can tell ya what good placement is based off these details...
As for levels, In my old lps dom tank i had best luck at Ca 420-440, dKH 8.5 Nitrates about 15ppm and phos below .10 Mag always stayed about 1350, had it up to 1600 at one point for bryopsis. Kept lots of favias, lobos, open brains, euphyllia, a couple chalice... LPS vary greatly tho, but as a whole they don't mind the water a little dirty
