If you are really worried about your sponge you could always take it out of the water for 5 minutes, the zoos will be ok but the sponge will probably die unless it is a very hardy one.
Just pull the rock out and use a pair of tweezers to pluck off the sponge. I prefer not to let it die off on the rock after its been out of the water for a while. With tweezers, it comes off really easy.
Use gloves and rinse that rock in fresh SW before putting back in the tank. Those sponges can be really toxic, so can the zoas and they have probably already started a chemical fight. I'd run carbon after returning it to the tank.
