What should I feed

Ok so 4 months into our tank and things are going pretty good. After an upgrade to better lighting we've ventured into some slightly more difficult corals. We recently picked up a green pagoda cup coral and an alveopora. My wife orriginaly fell in love with a goniopora but after doing some research and discovering its dificulty we opted for the slightly easier alvepora. The cup coral should be pretty easy to maintain but the alveopora seems to be the more difficult chalenge. From what I've read they tend to starve to death due to impropper feeding. I've placed it on the bottom of the tank in a low light low flow area. I'm just not sure what to feed. Has anyone had success with alveopora and if so what do you feed? I'm also wondering what to feed the cup coral. Phytoplankton or brine shrimp for both? Thanks.

some say goniopora/alveopora grow better in skimmerless tanks. but as long as they're getting enough food regardless of skimmer, they'll be fine i think. i have some goniopora and alveopora in my tank. they like high light and high flow ime. i've had them for a year without much growth but they're not receding either. i feed them nls micro feeder and cyclopeeze mixed with selcon once a week. maybe i should feem them more to get more growth.

+1 on the high levels of light and flow. You will have to watch your pieces as to how much flow the like. Too much and they will close up. I have three different kinds of Goni, two of which are over a year old with me. I don`t worry about feeding them specifically, but I do add fine coral food for the filter feeders.

Mate what do corals eat in the ocean?
Shallow day waters-phyto, deeper day waters zoo, night time both and other animals waste, so basically plankton, feed your tank what equates to just that and corals more so feed at night.
I make my reef foods, but in goes purchased frozen life as well.
If corals are not kept swept by good flow they will fall prey to bacterial attacks and then protists feeding on the dead flesh.
Oh and goni is quite easy, depending on which species.
