What Size Chiller

Looking to stabalize the temp on my tank a little more. only need to bring temp down about 3-4 degrees. What size and brand of chiller would you go with?

A 9" fan from Biglots over your sump.

4" will work too. But if you want faster pull down the 9"s are good.

A Ranco controller to run the fan and heater would also give some peace of mind.. that is if you have some $$ burning a hole in your pocket. THey are about $170 for the dual stage and will controll the fans and heater to give a pretty stable temp.

Chillers run so hot that they will raise the ambient temp in your room so warm that the chiller will actually be needed.
The affordable ones do atleast.

So true. When I walk by my dining room it's so nice and toasty warm there is no need to run heat even if it's 30F outside... My gas billl is like 10 bucks but the ac during the summer is about 200...

I still like it. Keeps the water in my tank at 79-80. Before it was 79 to 87...

i have 2 fans on my tank one pointed toward each MH bulb my tank stays at 78 or so with 2 400 watt MH and 2 110 watt cho atnics on a 5 foot 120 gallon.Now that its cooler i only need the one fan which is just a bathroom exhaust fan but it works.

I use a walmart turbo fan propped up on the back of the tank under the canapoy. Keeps everything cool unless it is a million out.

i run a 4 fan unit right now and its connected to a controller to ramp up and down depending on the temp of my tank

Went to 4 different stores and no one has fans. Don't they know its November and everyone needs a fan

Radio Shack has muffin fans. 120v for about 20 bucks.

Went there with no luck. Was even going to get a computer fan and wire it up but id end up spending 60 bucks on a fan system

You might want to call around vice driving all over. I know they have them at the RS in Shilo. If you go on EBay you can pick up a 4 fan unit too.
