Having a stand built for my 400 gallon (96x36x27) locally and needed some suggestions on which size tubing to use?

I have always done a wood stand so I'm not familar with what size tubing is needed for proper support.

Thanks guys!!!

I saw this on another thread but is similar to the design I would want in terms of support along the front of the stand. I'm thinking of 2" just to be safe.

Here is another. Again, I have search and reading various threads and these photos is what I have in mind.

2" is more than enough after reading the thread- Let's see those steel stands

I am setting up my 360(96x36x24) and plan on doing something very similar to those but think three seperate 32" stands with one flat 2" piece on top. I just am doing them seperate to get them into the house. Was going to stack one on the other but my sump/skimmer would have clearance issues. I got the idea from a guy here on RC you did the same with his 700 gallon.

Any of those stands will be plenty strong enough. If you're worried about any shearing stress (i.e. like me in San Francisco :D) You can bolt a piece of plywood (exterior paneling?) to help shore it up.

However I personally wouldn't put any self leveling feet, unless you're on a surface that you don't care if it compresses permanently (i.e. concrete pad, or sheet of plywood) because that'll be a lot of pressure on the floor (if tank is going into wife unfriendly territory)
