What Size Tank - FO

HI All,

Looking at setting up a FO tank. Wish to keep the below fish and want your thoughts on a tank size required to host these fish (dimensions)

1. Adult emperor angel
2. Juv Emperor angel
3. Blue line angel
4. Clown or Sohol tang
5. lip stick tang
6. clown trigger or picasso trigger (maybe both)?
7. Blue tang (still deciding on this one)
8. Yellow tang (still deciding on this one)

Tank would have a sand bed and i will provide water movement with some seio pumps. Was looking at the tunze streams but since FO i don't really require the pulse mode. What are your thoughts on a Tunze wave box on a FO tank, worth it?

Skimmer will be either a beckett skimmer or a deltec needle wheel. I know a good skimmer is required but the becketts are cheaper than the needle wheels. Presume a twin beckett skimmer would work OK in a FO tank?

300gal min, and maybe you should rethink the 2 emperor angels. I would go bigger with the amount of "attitude" the fish you want are going to have towards one another.

Id be looking at the 500gallon range. Thats an insane bio-load you have there.

Id start to consider a custom made tank as well, with a big sump/fuge. Those fish require a tank that is deep, wide and long. That emporer angel will need alot of room.

The fish you list are medium to heavy bioload and almost ALL are in need of lots of swim room. Skip the dual emperors. You will already have two large angels in there. You could add something else like a flagfin or goldflake that is outside their genus (blueface and emperor) and will be less aggressive. The tangs shouldn't be a problem given how big a tank you'll need for everything else. SKIP the clown trigger....seriously, he could very easily take out all his tankmates listed. Expect the sohol or clown to beat up on the other tangs. You are talking a minimum of 300 gallons (8'x2'x2' ballpark) These critters do better the more room you can give them so 500 is a happier tank. Budget before hand and figure out if all of that is what you need.
