What skimmer do you suggest?

I have a 55 gal with quite a few fish(tangs, clowns, chromis, gramma). Probably going to be adding 20 gal sump and go reef in future . Which skimmer would you suggest? Thanks for any input.

Tunze 9005 or 9010. I am getting the 9005 for my 50g reef soon. Don't really think you can go wrong with a Tunze.

P.S. I'm setting up a 55 gal FOWLR for the wife. What kind of 20-gal sump are you using? I was under the impression that a standard 20-gal long was too wide to fit in a standard 55-gal stand.

Thanks.

to be honest i havent even measured yet, maybe it wont fit. I f you findanything pm me ok.:)

Ok, so if i'm willing to spend around $250, i want something with easy operation, quiet, and efficient. Please help me decide between these options. Now it is A 55gal, not sure on sump size yet, no bigger than 20 gal. Thanks for all your help!

ASM G2
Tunze 9005
Coralife Super Skimmer 220?
ProClear MPS150

detroit_fan, of the ones you listed, the only one I'd use is the Tunze. I guess my second choice would be the Coralife.

From what I've heard, the pump on the ASM G2 is too small...you'd have much better results upgrading to the G3 (if it will fit).

if that what you have it down to id pick the 9005

but if i had my rathers
i would get Asm-g3
or a tunze 9010.
but if you want a cheeper option the NW-200 octopus would be a good choice. (it could be to big for your sump)

the price differance is to close to the next better model and the performance differance is to big to try and save a little money with the G-2 or the 9005. IMO

The G3 would be in my price range, but the 9010 is a little too high. This site has the G3 for $250.99. Is there a huge performance difference between the 9010 and the G3?
